Villanova (ビラノバ）Wild Catsが優勝！
NCAAとはアメリカの大学スポーツをまとめている組織だ。そしてそのNCAAトーナメントで優勝するということは、全米No.1を成し遂げるということ。当然だが何千とある大学の中から１チームのみが優勝することが出来る。日本では大学のトーナメントにあたるインカレなどはそこまで盛り上がっていないかもしれないが、こちらではMARCH MADNESS (３月の狂気）と呼ばれるほどに盛り上がるイベントなのだ。日本でいえば甲子園が近いかもしれない。
今回、ビラノバ大学がミシガンを79-62で破って大学No1の座についたのだが、その強さは圧倒的だった。トーナメントを勝ち抜くためには６試合あるのだが、全ての試合が二桁得点のリードで勝利を収めている。さらに、準決勝と決勝では1６点差以上をつけて勝ったのだ。さらに、ここ３年で２度優勝しているとういうのだからその実力は確かなものである（メンバーは多く入れ替わっているのでコーチの手腕とも言える）。

JALEN BRUNSON ⇒ 今年度で大学MVPを獲得したNo.1プレーヤー。 シーズン平均19.2得点、アシスト数は176で53%のフィールドゴール成功率。３pt成功率は41％。派手さはないが身体が強くて堅実な選手。シュート、パス、ドライブをバランス良くこなす。
Donte DiVincenzo ⇒ 決勝でベンチスタートから31得点の大爆発！ドライブと３ptが得意でパスも器用にこなす。決勝では勝負どころで3ptを２本連続で決めて勝負を決めた。
Omari Spellman ⇒ 身長もあり、手足も長く動けるPF．3ptシュートも打てるがドライブも力強い。トーナメントではリバウンドも目立った。
